As the clock strikes midnight and we welcome the new year, Miami Springs isn’t just ringing in 2026, it will be celebrating a year-long birthday party. Welcome to our Centennial Year!
Kicking things off in true Miami Springs style is the Centennial Gala, “A Night at the Mansion,” where the Centennial Committee will take us back to the 1920s at the iconic Curtiss Mansion, the very home of our city’s founder. Think jazz-era glamour and vintage vibes -that some are already calling it “the gala of the year.” Dust off your best Jazz Age flair, because this one is going down in history (literally).
And since Glenn Curtiss didn’t just build a city, but also a lifestyle, the Miami Springs Country Club is teaming up with the Centennial Committee to bring us The Curtiss Cup golf tournament, celebrating the sport Glenn Curtiss loved and designed the city around. You’ll be swinging clubs on the very grounds where Curtiss and his friends once played, so yes, you can officially say you golfed like a founder. In March, the celebration keeps rolling as the Miami Springs Woman's Club joins forces with the Centennial Committee to make Taste in the Springs bigger, better, and more delicious than ever! Consider this your official notice to come hungry. In April, the River Cities Regatta returns with music and entertainment for all, honoring 100 years of community and pride!
Miami Springs is also honoring its founder in a big way, with a new monument set to become a true focal point of our beautiful city. Natalie Palencia and her husband, Juan Calvo, have teamed up to bring the community something we’ve been missing for years, the Glenn H. Curtiss and June Bug Monument, celebrating both the man and the plane that helped shape history. If you want to be part of this legacy and leave your name in history, find out more!
But wait… there’s more! Throughout the entire year, we will celebrate with the people and community that makes Miami Springs so special. Events like Ride Through History, a family friendly bicycle ride through various historic points in the city; Living Legacy, honoring our amazing residents over 90 years young; Curtiss’ Birthday Bash at the Miami Springs Library; a special edition of our beloved Fourth of July Parade & Fireworks show, and in August, a city birthday celebration -right on the Circle with local bands, community vibes, and the Miami Springs “Cake-tennial” -a 100 cakes for 100 years (yes, you bring the cake)!
So yes, Miami Springs, there’s a lot happening. Buckle up, grab your neighbors, and get ready… because Miami Springs is about to celebrate 100 years!
